Getting started

From sign-up to a protected site in about ten minutes.

1. Create your account

Sign in at app.cayve.co with your email address. You’ll get a 6-digit code by email; there’s no password to remember. Name your account after your business or agency.

2. Add a site and create its key

In Sites → Add a site, enter the website’s address. New sites start in shadow mode for seven days: Cayve records what it would do and lets every message through.

Open the site and press Create key. Copy the key now; it is shown once.

3. Install the plugin

On the WordPress site, go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin and upload the Cayve plugin. Activate it, open Cayve → Settings, paste the key and save. Press Test the connection.

That’s it. Every comment, review, registration and form submission is now checked. The plugin’s Messages screen and your dashboard show each decision and why.

4. Watch, then switch on

During the first week, read the decisions under Messages. If Cayve got one wrong, mark it as spam or as a real message; that teaches it on your site straight away. When you’re happy, open the site in the dashboard and press Start protecting now.
